END-USERS
Q. Do users need special handsets to use MoPay-enabled mobile payment applications?
A. No. Even the most basic of handsets supports MoPay applications. If your users’ phones can send text messages, then they can use MoPay’s SMS-based m-payment applications.
Q. If users have a problem making an m-payment, whom do they contact?
A. Usually, the entity offering the service to end-users also manages customer care inquiries.
Q. Is it secure?
A. Yes. The system does not transmit any payment sensitive data over mobile networks.
Q. Are m-payments easy to make?
A. Yes. MoPay-enabled applications have been designed for maximum usability and convenience. Applications can be as simple as service providers want, and typically, the user need only remember a short, secret PIN or ‘passcode’ to authorize payments.
Q. How do users keep their PINs secure?
A. Users should be encouraged in both SMS messages and marketing materials to memorize their PINs and to refrain from writing them down (as banks currently do for PINs issued for ATM cash withdrawals and use at Points of Sale). Users should also be reminded to delete any transaction-related SMS messages from their phones and also to change their PINs periodically as an additional security measure.
